The Charterhouse

M&E Refurbishment - Working in Occupied Premises

The Charterhouse provides accommodation to a community of residents known as Brothers, based in London.

With Brothers still residing there, and much of the work being in their apartments, this project required a well-planned approach and special consideration.

Working within these historical and remarkable buildings provided further challenges as the focus was on the traditional aesthetics with a new ceiling being built to conceal the containment installation.

The project replaced and restored many of the existing services, ranging from ventilation, fire detection and alarm systems.

Having been closed to the public for 650 years, the remodelling and conservation allowed the historic landmark to be re-opened to the public.
