Chelmsford's Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre is the largest of Chelmsford City Council's leisure facilities and includes two swimming pools, an ice ring, gym, studios and more.

Munro were involved in installing MEP services to the new 10 lane, 25 metre swimming pool which has a moveable floor to change the depth of the pool, a teaching/beginners area, changing rooms and fitness suites.

These improvements doubled the new building's energy efficiency compared to the former leisure complex. 

Plans also involved upgrades to the ice rink, skate hire, toilets and café facilities, increased size in the gym and converting the car park into a multi-storey parking facility.

This new building, together with the refurbishment of the existing ice rink and sports hall, provides a fantastic leisure hub to an ever-improving city centre, with greater connectivity to the new Riverside developments which includes the new luxury retail mecca at Chelmsford's Bond Street.
