Munro Building Services were successfully awarded the MEP Contract at Jesus college and completed the works alongside Main contractor Gilbert Ash. The project required a new large basement to be formed and two new extensions providing additional space to help facilitate a smooth kitchen service.
The clients vison was to provide an efficient functional kitchen with further supportive spaces so they could provide wider food choices and a good working environment during the construction, Munros experience working in a live college facility was essential in delivering the clients vison on time mitigating disruption to the site. Munro kept constant communication with the client on a weekly basis to ensure the clients day to day activities were not disruptive and all logistics were in in line with their expectations.
Key aspects of the MEP delivery were to provide a good thermal comfort utilising HVAC plant and also low noise levels. Another driving factor was sustainability and the installation of the Ground Source heating plant and the retrofit of the sustainable plant within the historic building and its new facilities.
