In order to meet the growing demand for student places with high-end educational facilities, Cambridgeshire County Council funded the construction and refurbishment of Cromwell Community College for pupils aged between four to eighteen.
This project was set out to be completed in two phases; the first phase being the refurbishment and extension of the two-storey 1FE Secondary School teaching block and new build two-storey link Admin block. The second phase consisted of the construction a new single-storey 1FE Primary School (with a 2FE core).
Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and national lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, the build began to encounter challenges such as staff shortages, disrupted schedules and supply chain shortages. However, despite this the Cromwell Community College expansion project was delivered successfully and on time ahead of the following academic year.
