Passivhaus

Cranmer Road, King's College

Working with RG Carter, we were delighted to deliver the stunning new Passivhaus student accommodation for King’s College, the first of it's kind in Cambridge.

The development was a direct response to student feedback and is situated in the existing College grounds on Cranmer Road. Providing 59 graduate rooms across two new accommodation buildings, the development created a unified campus around a shared garden, a short walk from the College’s historic courts.

The graduate accommodation was built to Passivhaus ‘classic’ standard, a sustainable housing initiative, resulting in ultra-low energy buildings which require very little energy for heating or cooling.

Munro were responsible for delivering the design and installation of all MEP aspects of the project working in collaboration with the wider design team to ensure exceptional levels of coordination, a critical success factor of the project.
