The Arthur Rank Hospice at Shelford Bottom provides the Cambridge community with a new palliative care facility.
Working with Barnes Construction, Munro Building Services carried out the M&E installation on a Design & Build basis, where the careful selection of manufacturers and specialists became integral to providing the hospice with a great value, high-level finish whilst maintaining a non-medical feel.
We provided a full lighting system, electrics, ventilation, heating, domestic hot and cold water, medical gases and fire alarms to the new two-storey building, which included over 2 miles of pipework and 5 miles of cable.
The hospice now provides patient and ward areas, consulting and treatment rooms and several communal spaces, including a bistro. Munro Building Services also designed a bespoke overhead lighting system for patient’s beds which we tested at our own facilities.
