Munro Building Services worked with Morgan Sindall to install all of the M&E services for the Alconbury Education Campus.

Phase 1 of the scheme consisted of the construction of a 4FE Secondary School, which includes 3no. separate buildings and a 200 place SEND School for Post-16.

Alconbury Education Campus was selected as the pilot scheme by Cambridge County Council (CCC) to establish the viability and financial implications of meeting the nearly zero-energy building (NZEB).

To help achieve the NZEB, Munro provided 407kWh PV system with 14no. Air Source Heat Pumps and 12no. Air Handling Units. Whilst Alconbury Education Campus will not target Passivhaus certification, low energy principles of Passivhaus to reduce the energy demand have been used.

The project achieved a BREEAM Rating of Very Good.
