Team Munro CSR - Fundraising & Charity 2017

With the beginning of Autumn quickly approaching we are reflecting on what has been a successful and enjoyable year so far for everyone at Munro Building Services. As a company we are doing all we can to ensure that our Corporate Social Responsibility is a key focus.

Our CSR vision covers everything to keep our friends and members of Munro thinking about tomorrow, from climate protection to community projects and promoting healthy living to charitable contributions. Fundraising plays a particularly important part in Munro’s CSR, as a company based on local, family roots we will always aim to put money back into the local community and the non-profit organisations around it.

More often than not we find ourselves talking about our projects: from new schools that will inspire children, hospitals that will save lives to the office hubs of the future. However, it is not just our projects that have the power to change lives, but also our people.

We are particularly proud of Team Munro this year, who all in all have raised nearly £10,000 and growing for a variety of charities all near and dear to our hearts.

You may have seen some articles since the beginning of the year congratulating numerous staff on their achievements. From ‘Wings for Life’ – Team Munro Fundraising about Michael’s man versus machine style race and ‘Relay for Life’ – A Family Affair about Keith’s and his teams effort to complete a 24 hour race.

On top of these two inspiring stories, staff from both offices in Cambridge and Essex have been busy raising money for other causes. Caroline in our maintenance team completed a muddy run for Cancer Research whilst Munro’s annual Newmarket Ladies Day ‘Grow our Gift’ fundraiser also raised £3,000 for Arthur Rank Hospice.

We like to recognise the remarkable things our wonderful people have done to support national and local charities and we watch on proudly as we see our people grow as they continually put others before themselves.

Our Cambridge to Chelmsford (AND BACK!) cycle ride has just taken place last week. We have already raised over £1000 for Diabetes UK, please visit our Sponsorship page.
