Munro Building Services were appointed by Sidney Sussex College as the Main Contractor to deliver the full M&E services installation, to decarbonise the existing plantroom and primary systems.

The existing oil-fired boilers and storage tanks were decommissioned and removed along with the old BMS control system and majority of the old M&E services.

A temporary boiler plant was integrated within the system to ensure existing kitchen and accommodation DHW was still available whilst the work was ongoing.

There were a few challenges to overcome whilst working around the exam period and within an old building basement with very limited access for new plant, especially the upgrading of the flue system within an old brick chimney.

We would like to thank our subcontractor partners that worked with us on this project, it was a great collaborative effort from all.
