This M&E project for Emanuel School was to install M&E in the new build Dacre Building.
Munro worked alongside main contractor, Buxton Building, to complete this £1.2m private school project before the new term start in September 2017. The project consisted of the new three storey teaching block which housed additional classrooms, art exhibition space, film studios and further art and music facilities.
The M&E works consisted of the provision of the complete services installation to include public health services, heating and cooling, a bespoke lighting scheme, fire alarm system and data network.
Particular challenges on this educational sector project, ranged from the installation of the ground source heat pump which involved drilling several boreholes to a depth in excess of 30 metres as well as giving special consideration to the possibility of unexploded ordnance from World War 2.
The scheme achieved a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good.’
