Project Gemma Moves Forward with Munro

Situated beside the entrance to the Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre (ATC), and adjoining the Addenbrooke’s Centre for Clinical Investigations (ACCI), this exciting new research building, code-named Project Gemma will provide the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with additional capacity and enhanced capability to translate fundamental biomedical re-search into clinical research that benefits patients.

Working with SDC Builders and Managed by the University of Cambridge, the building project will take 17 months to complete, and occupation is due in the first quarter of 2017.

The project is part of the redevelopment of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (2020 Vision and Masterplan) and will be a significant presence on the new High Street development (currently Keith Day Road).

The building will be directly opposite the new Forum complex, which will provide an Education Centre, a private hospital and a hotel (previously a staff car park opposite the ATC). The High Street will link the current hospital with a new public space at the heart of the campus called the Circus, which will be situated between the new Papworth Hospital site and the Astra Zeneca site.

Munro are delighted to have secured the M&E package and be working closely with SDC to deliver this exciting new project.
