This September saw the grand opening of a brand-new flagship FordStore™ operated by Gates Ford in Harlow, Essex. The dealership’s redevelopment was led by main contractor R G Carter, with Munro Building Services working with them to realise the M&E design.

Munro are very proud and excited to hear that the project has won a place as an Eastern Regional Finalist for the 2018 Civic Trust Awards. These Regional Finalists, including The Henry Moore Foundation, will be put forward to the Civic Trust Awards, AABC and Selwyn Goldsmith Award National Panels on 14th December where the decision will be made as to whether they will be crowned one of the 2018 winners.

2017 has been a ground-breaking year for Cambridge construction, as we introduce more and more stunning buildings to our city’s skyline. One building in particular has been making the headlines and that is the £15m project, known as “Europe’s First Ever Eco-Mosque.”

The team at Munro’s Chelmsford office in Essex have recently secured a £5.5m contract with Kier Construction at the new Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre, right in the heart of the City of Chelmsford. The new build project will feature modern mechanical and electrical installations synonymous with the investment made by Chelmsford City Council and part funded from Sport England.

Munro Building Services is currently providing mechanical and electrical installations working with main contractor VINCI Construction UK. Nuffield Health will provide the day to day management, operating the facility on behalf of the client BioMed Realty.

This year Munro have been involved in a multitude of education sector projects, but one which has stuck out as particularly pleasing for our Chelmsford, Essex branch is Whitehall Park School in Islington, North London. A new build project which is the new home for local primary school students and their teachers.
Since setting up in 2014 the school has faced several challenges, primarily resulting from the fact that the school had been in five temporary sites during its very short life and during the infancy of establishing itself as a new school.

Raising over £5,000 so far, Keith Matthams completed the 24 hour relay for Cancer Research. Being a part of the community is what Munro has always been about and seeing our own people doing more and more to raise both awareness and money is exciting for our business.
